Nancy Wilson, a jazz performer and three-time Grammy Award winner was born in Chillicothe, Ohio on 20 February 1937 to Olden Wilson, an ironworker. had been employed for a considerable time as a housekeeper. Nancy was the youngest of six children. Nancy was a child who listened to the records of her father and his passion for music. By the age of four, she knew she would like to become an accomplished musician. She discovered her talent for music through participating in choirs of the church. When she was 15 when she was 15, she got a spot on a talent show on TV and was able to regularly appear on The Skyline Melodies Tv Show while still in High School. The same year when she was working, she began performing in nightclubs. Nancy at the age of 17, completed high school and was enrolled in Ohio Central State College (now Central State University) for a year before quitting to pursue a career as a musician. Her first album was with Rusty Bryants Carolyn Club Big Band, which she sang with from 1956 to 1958. Nancy made her debut album via Dot Records during the time she was with the group. Cannonball Adderley told that she should move to New York to further her career, and she moved there to The Big Town in the year 1959. After just a few days after, her manager saw her performance and decided to hire her. The singer made her debut in 1960 with one single following an agreement with Capitol Records. Guess who I saw today? Capitol issued five Nancy Wilson records in just two years. The first was focused on R&B however, under Adderley's influence, she began to embrace jazz. Nancy Wilson, Cannonball Adderley and their 1962 collaboration helped her reach the top. She had her breakthrough hit Tell Me the Truth by 1963. This brought her a gig in New York's Coconut Grove the premier night club in America that year, and she quickly became a legend.
