Nancy Wilson and Maisie Richardson

Nancy Wilson (jazz singer) was born to Olden Wilson, an ironworker from Chillicothe on the 20th of February, 1937. The mother of her child, Lillian Ryan worked as housekeeper. In 1956, she recorded her debut record in Rusty Bryant's Carolyn Club Big Band with whom she toured from 1956 between 1956 and 1958. Nancy released her debut recording via Dot Records during the time she spent with this group. Cannonball advised her to relocate in New York and go to The Big Town for the rest of her singing career. The agent of Adderley heard about her in The Blue Morocco Night Club, Boston Road, The Bronx and she then signed her contract. within a month after her arrival to New York, she was in the city.
