She portrayed Paloma in the role of Bond girl in No Time to Die in 2021. She also played Norma Jean for the biopic Blonde in 2022. Blonde was the film that saw de Armas become the first Cuban actress to be awarded an Academy Award nomination for Best Actress.

Trevor Morris who was a prisoner of the South Carolina Department of Corrections was killed in a stabbing accident during scuffles between inmates. Trevor Morris' death occurred during scuffles between inmates. Trevor Morris, who was 27, at the time of his death, was active on social media, particularly in Twitter.
